The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) will conduct an investigation on a Facebook account owner who allegedly disseminated images with tattoos of Muslim holy words on his body.
Jakim Director-General Datuk Othman Mustapha (pic) said the department will cooperate with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to trace the individual.
"We have received a report and have asked our religious officers to look into the matter seriously," he said when asked to comment on a photograph of a man with tattoos of several holy words, including Bismillah and Allah on his forehead, neck and hand.
In another development, Othman said Jakim was prepared to extend the airtime of Salam FM radio from 12 midnight to 8am if approved.
"Jakim is well prepared as we will have a new studio when the Islamic Complex in Precinct 3 is completed next year," he told reporters after the 'Salamfm' ceremony at Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin in Putrajaya today. – Bernama,
