1) The political ravage in Selangor continues as Khalid Ibrahim is being put to task defending his MB's position which he solemnly embraces and has not shown any sign of disengagement defying the wishes of majority of the Selangor PKR leaders.
2) At a press conference yesterday, the PKR wanita chief reiterated her support to replace Khalid with Wan Azizah citing allege mismanagement and misconduct as reasons for Khalid's displacement at the same time dismissing any ray of hope for Azmin as another likely candidate for the MB's post.
3) Some say that politic is cruel and knows no mercy especially so when one doesn't toe the line and follows the wishes of the political master. It's only not long time ago that Khalid was glorified to the roof for being an efficient administrator but yet all so suddenly he has now become a pariah and is being ridiculed and disgraced to the lowest ebb.
4) Despite the mounting pressure for Khalid to step down, he is digging his heels firmly to the ground and will not budge. But how long Khalid can remain defiance will be known on the 10th August when the PKR central committee decides on Khalid's fate in the party as well as his position as the MB of Selangor.
5) It's almost certain that if Khalid remained recalcitrant he would probably be expelled from the party. He will become a party outcast. However, he can still hold on to his post which can only be determined by a vote of no confidence at the State assembly or on the advice to resign by the Sultan of Selangor.
6) Still Khalid can also seek the advice of the Sultan to dissolve the state assembly as DAP and PAS are also divided on Khalid. Hence, the best direction is for Pakatan to go back to the rakyat and reinforce their support for this dramatic turn of event.
7) In fact, dissolving the state assembly would be a gracious move versus the much criticized Kajang move which has failed miserably in its strategy to replace Khalid with Anwar even though Wan Azizah still won quite handsomely at the Kajang by-election.
8) The same strategist of the Kajang move is now busy propagating the rationale for Khalid's removal to subdue his failure and to gag his critiques from within and without the party circle. Some say it's a redemption while others see it as a mean to restraint his adversaries in PKR.
9) It's really an irony for a party that so call professes accountability, integrity and justice has failed to deliver to the tone but yet willfully condemn others especially the BN leaders for something they themselves has failed miserably to deliver.
10) Some political observers commented that the politics of lies and hatred propounded by Pakatan against BN has now been maneuvered against their very own leaders. These observers say that it would be difficult for PKR to remain intact as one can fool some people some time but one cannot fool all the people all the time.
11) The fate of PKR is in a balance if there is a call for a snap election in Selangor. But whether Anwar Ibrahim and other Pakatan leaders dare to take the risk is yet remain to be seen. This is something that they need to ponder seriously in support of their political philosophy of upholding justice, accountability and integrity.
12) The disgruntled PKR members are now voicing their disenchantment with this political fracas in Selangor and is displeased with anwar's advocacy of dynasty politics to enroot deeper in PKR. Some even question the PKR Ketua Umum's motive bluntly - a manifestation that Anwar's political leadership is no longer doctrinal and sacred.
13) Be it as it may, the embattled Khalid will not surrender hands down as there are hidden hands in PKR, DAP and PAS who are in support of him to stay. Pakatan does'nt have a supreme leader like BN whose commander in chief still command the respect of all its members. The Pakatan union is very fragile and the Selangor political fracas is a sign of its fragility.
14) Everybody knows that Khalid will have to concede if the party no longer needed his services. He was elevated by the party and should stick to the rule of the game. But he still has a trump card and he looks like he will use it till the very last moment of his time. However, its a big price to pay as the political landscape currently is not in his favour.
15) Khalid has done irreparable damage to his political career in PKR. He doesn't intend to go down alone, he will drag everybody along especially those who has put him in this peril and predicament.
16) The displacement of Ahmad Said in Terengganu was a minor storm in a cup but the attempt to dislodge Khalid has turned out to be a treacherous storm in an open sea. The verdict - we have to wait and see or better let the rakyat of Selangor be the judge and jury. It's the best way out for everybody and certainly the best way in for Wan Azizah (to be the next MB) - wallahualam (only god knows the best)
