Last week we were all stunned from the announcement by ADUN Kajang to vacate his seat to pave way for the third country’s by-election after PRU13.
Rafizi Ramli , the so called PKR party strategist called it the Kajang Move: Game Changer in Putrajaya Quest. (Harakah)
Rafizi maybe an ardent chess player and uses chess terminology to explain his political strategy. In a chess game, many pieces from the pawn to even the queen are sacrificed to save the king.
Who is the pawn? Is it a single pawn or many pawns? Is ADUN Kajang a pawn and the Kajang voters the many pawns or the Kajang votes are merely spectators that have to pay to enter into the chess tournament.
Who is the queen? is it Khalid Ibrahim because we don’t see anybody else as powerful as Khalid at least as a figure head in Selangor PKR politics.
Who is the king then? Is it Anwar Ibrahim (AI)? It’s anybody’s guess?
Where is Wan Azizah and Azmin Ali in this equation?.
Has Wan Azizah been the first queen to be sacrificed much earlier? Perhaps yes - because she has been keeping timidly quiet and did not seem to be entangled in this controversy at all.
As for Azmin Ali, what is his role then? Certainly Azmin is neither a pawn nor a queen, far more from being a king. So can Azmin actually be the Grandmaster in disguise. Take a guess?
The Kajang Move is seen by many as an attempt to safe AI from Political Wilderness not only in Selangor but also in PKR.
PKR will be having its Annual General Assembly soon and Anwar & Azmin need to strengthen their position - hence the Kajang Move is actually a game changer for the politics of Anwar & Azmin in PKR because their bedtime partners DAP & PAS are getting very anxious & nervous of the turmoil besetting PKR especially in Selangor.
Rafizi in his article purportedly blamed Najib, Mahathir and UMNO to justify their Kajang Move. That is very typical of PKR and their subordinates in Pakatan.
Rafizi went further in making Public Apology for the move, which he claims is a pre-requisite in the quest to capture Putrajaya.
PKR seems to be taking thing for granted. Whatever they do they will harp on the tune of democracy and justice and conclude that democracy has been grossly undermined under the UMNO & BN rule.
BN & UMNO has ridiculed their claim as three of the important states namely Selangor, Penang & Kelantan is now under Pakatan rule, even their reps in Parliament have increase significantly denying BN of the 2/3 majority.
One marvel at Anwar because even at his sunset age, he is still as ambitious as ever. Some say its ambition others say its greed. Many Malay man of his age would go slow and take it easy.
PKR and even DAP & PAS know that AI is the cohesive force. Without Anwar factor Pakatan will fall apart and be dismantled quickly.
They cannot afford this to happen as they feel that the road to Putrajaya is already an easy path for them now.
They say Anwar is the king in the chess game. But in the Kajang Move, it seems that Anwar is playing the role of the pawn. But being Anwar, he can adapt well in any situation and can even metamorphosis from being a pawn to a king maker and even becoming a king if he wanted to.
Be it as it may, the Kajang voters must practice their wisdom and not be hoodwinked by selfish & self-centered politics which uses the end to justify the means.
The Rakyat must not be used or confused by the political game of any political party or individual.
Like in any chess game – the Kajang Move may not be a Game Changer but could well be Game Over for PKR in their Quest for Putrajaya. Checkmate!
